Avenue Q

I was studying and chatting then getting tired so decided to stop studying but continue chatting instead.

Afterall, I am like half a man can't multi task.

Avenue Q with Gek!

Many thanks to Gek whom initally was hesistant but confirmed her "attendance" the moment she knew I am alone.

We bought S$80 tickets and got pretty decent seat. Foyer (first floor seats) and it enables us to see clearly the expression of the actor as well as the puppet's movement.

For those who don't know, Avenue Q is a puppet musical with adult themed songs. Originates from the States, it had been a hit, winning several awards, and creating productions internationally.

AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fianceƩ Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

It is basically a mix of humans holding puppets and human singing.
Live singing by the way. Gek and I took quite a while to figure that out.

Very dominating. Seems like one of those theatres u see overseas.
Its not my first time there but it never fails to make me feel that Arts CAN DO in Singapore.

If you asked me if I enjoyed it, yes I did very much.

It is certainly humourous and naughty!

Unlike Forbidden City and Beauty World, they are not so much into background / effects and such.
I guess maybe that's why it is one musical that you watched once is enough type.

After I typed the above sentence, I realized, both Forbidden City and Beauty World is local production but Avenue Q isn't quite.
HMMMMM, interesting.

Overall, it was an enjoyable evening, more so with the company of Ms S Cube.
